A Clean Order Depends On A Clean Approval

Send the useful facts

Email the logo file, finished label size, fold type, quantity, garment use and any strict colour references. A photograph of an old label often helps.

Proof before production

One digital proof is included on standard woven label orders. For first orders, the 50% deposit is paid before proofing begins. Repeat orders from approved artwork can usually start with a purchase order; production starts after the proof or repeat instruction is confirmed.

Make the labels properly

Woven labels take 12-15 working days from approved proof. Printed satin care labels take 5-7 working days. Swing tags usually take 7-10 working days.

Dispatch, collect or deliver locally

UK courier delivery is £8.50 for most cartons. Local delivery is available within 12 miles of Leicester city centre on orders over £150.

Minimum order is 500 pieces for woven labels and printed care labels, and 250 pieces for swing tags. Artwork redraw for poor files is £25-£45 plus VAT when required. Cotton stringing for swing tags is from £18 per 500.

I started Man Label in Leicester in 2014 after spending years around garment factories, sample rooms and trim counters in the East Midlands, and the work taught me that labels are small only in size. A poor label changes the way a garment feels in the hand before the customer has even tried it on. If the fold is short the stitcher fights it. If the edge is harsh the wearer cuts it out. If the lettering is too small the loom guesses at the shape and the brand mark looks nervous. If a care label carries text nobody checked, a whole batch of garments can leave the workshop with a mistake sewn into every seam. That is why we ask for the real size, the fold, the garment use and the proof approval rather than treating the label as a catalogue item. We are not trying to slow anybody down. We are trying to keep the small part honest, so the maker, the cutter, the machinist and the person buying the garment all see the same careful piece of work.
